Marine Garment is a brand that is built on the art of simplicity and uniform aesthetics, blending timeless design with modern innovation to create garments that are as reliable as they are elegant. Their approach is grounded in originality and purpose, with every piece embodying a classic style that has been thoughtfully reinvented.
I was engaged to design assets for print and social media that capture Marine Garment's vision for their re-launch, as well as visually tuning their identity.. As part of their visual inception, I refined the brand’s logo and identity, aligning with existing brand values and color systems. The result is a cohesive visual language that reinforces Marine Garment’s commitment to clean design and enduring quality. We opted for a brand colour palette inspired by naval uniforms, bandanas, sea green tones and brass insignias, capturing both the utilitarian and ornamental aspects of maritime heritage.
When designing the visual identity for Marine Garment - I aimed to echo the brand’s values through a distinctive aesthetic rooted in early 20th century sailor, marine and naval culture. The identity draws inspiration from period-specific graphics, typography and colour palettes, evoking a sense of nostalgia while maintaining a refined and contemporary edge. To reinforce the handcrafted nature of the brand, I hand-spaced the type, introducing subtle irregularities that lend the design a more authentic, personal quality - reminiscent of traditional sign-painting from the era.
The balance of heritage and modernity mirrors the garments themselves - clean, confident, and timeless. I carried this same visual language across digital platforms, translating the printed aesthetic into cohesive social media graphics and content.
