The Wishing Well was a community project designed to highlight the struggles of a beloved independent shop in my hometown of Folkestone which faced threats from economic challenges and competition with large chain retailers.
To support the cause, I was asked to design a poster incorporating items sourced directly from the shop, alongside graphic elements that visually connected it to the store’s identity. This approach aimed to capture the shop’s character while raising awareness of the importance of preserving local businesses.
The final design was displayed throughout the town, serving both as a call to action and a tribute to the unique charm that only independent shops like The Wishing Well can offer.
